Why do so many inefficient meetings exist?
Meetings are a crucial process to the effective running of an organisation, and meetings consume so much of many people’s working weeks, it is surely important that they are conducted efficiently – so why are such a large proportion of them inefficient? And what should we do about it?

It is important that meeting feedback does not become an industry in its own right, but it does require the dedication of at least a little meeting time to use it effectively. Given that the current consequences of a lack of effective feedback cause approximately 50% of meeting time to be wasted, there is plenty of scope for allocating some meeting time to redressing this.
