FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions about the templates)
How do I add content? Simply use the buttons above the template. The best option is the one that looks like a sticky note – simply click it, then click somewhere on the template and start typing. They boards are intended to be intuitive, but if you would like more guidance click ‘help’ (toward the top left of the board) or use our 10 minute familiarisation board.
How do I save my work? Simply click on the blue button (‘Keep this board’) beside the title at the top. On the panel that opens, below the ‘sign in’ and ‘share’ buttons, you will see a link to ‘sign up for a free account’. This will enable you to set up a password to keep your data safe and secure (you will see your board in your account page). If you cannot see the blue button, you may already be signed into a Conceptboard account, in which case the board will automatically be saved.
Will my team still have access? Providing you save your board (see above) your team will still be able to access it via the link you gave them (unless you choose to change their permissions). Any changes they make to the board will automatically be saved on the board.
Why so much grey? So that the content provided by participants stands out clearly (people rarely pick grey for a sticky note). Also, if you choose to classify ideas by colour, you do not need to worry about a particular category clashing or getting lost. It also helps keep the design of each template as simple as possible – which is sort of the point.
Does it matter if I use the wrong panel? It is the discussion that is paramount, not the visual result. It is only the wrong panel if people think its the wrong panel, in which case they can move it. Don’t let concern with the tool lead you to waste time on such concerns – it is only a means to an end. You may need to remind people of this sometimes.
How do I do something REALLY simple? The simplest things is simply getting people writing down answers to a question, and then maybe grouping them together. A great place to start is the Affinity Diagram (lime green frame, 5th down on the left) because it is just a panel, so you can ask ANY question, but it does help with any grouping you might choose to do.
Can I pull several tools together? Absolutely. If you are in your meeting, the quickest way is to simply click the tools you need in turn. You can copy content from one to the other if you need to, and you can easily put them together in one conceptboard at the end (for guidance on the skills to do this see https://app.conceptboard.com/load/meeting-toolchest-ccbfamiliarisation). If you have time until your meeting you can always assemble them beforehand.
Can I have more than 100 items? For most single-template activities with a group of less than 20 people this will not be an issue – you are unlikely to reach this limit. However, if you are combining tools on one board or working with larger groups, you will. That said, Conceptboard is not only the best whiteboard I have come across, at 6 euros per month for unlimited content and participation, it is also the most reasonably priced.
